Giants Prospect Gustavo Cabrera Suffers Wrist Injury
Source: Craig Calcaterra, NBC Sports
The story, first reported by Ben Badler of Baseball America, with details added by Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com, has Cabrera cutting his wrist severely on broken glass, possibly in a slip-and-fall, possibly by putting it through a window. Badler reports that the injury was gruesome and nearly led to his right hand being severed.
Baggarly’s sources, however, say that Cabrera has had surgery and, since he is likely destined to play in a league that begins in mid-season next year, he should be ready to go as scheduled.
