Giants Cleaning House, Cut Chris Canty
The New York Giants announced the release of defensive tackle Chris Canty on Wednesday, joining other veterans — linebacker Michael Boley and running back Ahmad Bradshaw — that were asked to clean out their lockers.
Canty was due $6.25 million in 2013, the fifth year of a six-year deal he signed with the team before the 2009 season.
The Giants went 9-7 last season and missed the playoffs.
