Gators Tie At Annual Orange And Blue Game
The Florida Gators held their annual Orange and Blue Spring game Saturday afternoon in front of over 35,000 fans in the Swamp.
Oddly enough with seven seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, it was backup quarterback Skyler Mornhinweg tying the game 23-23. The redshirt sophomore went 14 of 18 for 149 yards and two touchdowns while targeting over 12 different receivers. One of those players was sophomore Chris Thompson who had three receptions but led the orange with 31 yards and one score.
First team starter Jeff Driskel made his first appearance since fracturing his leg against Tennessee three games into the season last year. Driskel went 19 of 33 for 171 yards and one touchdown and managed to get the ball to eight different wideouts. Senior Quinton Dunbar was Driskel’s go to target, leading both teams with four receptions for 42 yards.
Running back Adam Lane led the orange in rushing, carrying the ball eight times for 37 yards while the senior Mack Brown carried eight times for 56 yards and one touchdown for the blue squad.
Muschamp addressed the media afterwards and was pleased to see the progress on the offensive side of the ball.
