Gators remain No. 3 in AP hoops poll
OK depending on who you follow the University of Florida Gators are ranked as the third best basketball team in the nation in the Associated Press poll while the Coaches poll has them as the number four team. No matter how you look at it the Gators are on a 15 game winning streak, are undefeated in the Southeastern Conference at a perfect 10-0 and have an overall record of 21-2.
That undefeated 10-0 SEC conference record will face a challenge this week to be sure.
The Gators face a very tough road trip that will see them in Knoxville to face a Tennessee team that is 6-4 in the SEC and 15 – 8 overall. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN at 7 p.m.
Then it will be on to Lexington to face Kentucky who is number two in the SEC with a 8-2 record and 18-5 overall, they are ranked 14th in the country by both polls. That game will also air on ESPN at 9 p.m. Saturday night.
The big news in the polls this week is that Syracuse is a unanimous No. 1 in The Associated Press college basketball poll for the second straight week, while SMU moved into the Top 25 for the first time in almost three decades.
