The Florida Gators have suffered through a terrible season and now that it’s over, the bad news keeps coming. Head Coach Will Muschamp announced that six key players are transferring.
Sophomore tight end Kent Taylor, offensive linemen Quinteze Williams and Trevon Young, redshirt freshmen fullback Rhaheim Ledbetter and junior offensive lineman Ian Silberman are all leaving. Aside from these offensive players who saw firsthand what a disaster the offense was this season, Offensive Coordinator Brent Pease was fired, along with offensive line coach Tim Davis.
In addition to those players, freshman quarterback Max Staver announced that he also plans to transfer. Staver was a redshirt behind junior Jeff Driskel who got hurt in the middle of the season. He was considered a three-star prospect but he feels that there is a better opportunity for him somewhere else.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel for the Gators. A very talented offensive lineman committed to the suffering Florida team. David Sharpe is a Jacksonville native and is the number 2 ranked tackle in the nation. He chose Florida over Georgia, Tennessee, and Clemson. He says that even though the Gators are without two offensive coaches, he has faith in Coach Muschamp.
