Gators Add Lineman to List of 2014 Commits
Will Muschamp has not let the difficulties or distractions of this 2013 offseason keep him from staying committed to his job: building a strong football team for this and future seasons.
Although the off-the-field frustrations came to a head a bit on Thursday with the removal of Aaron Hernandez’s commemorative All-American brick from in front of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, some positive news came out of the day as well.
Dontae Angus—a 6’6”, 330-pound lineman from Philadelphia’s Martin Luther King High School—has committed to the Gators 2014 class, their 11th commit. He is listed as a three-star prospect by both 247Sports and Rivals.
It is still unclear whether or not Angus will be taking the field as an offensive or defensive lineman, but according to Blake Alderman of Inside the Gators, Angus said, “They want me to play defense right now, just like Sharrif (Floyd).”
Floyd is a fellow Philly prospect who has reportedly been mentoring Angus, so Angus seems like a sure bet to stick around. He adds much-needed size and strength to whichever line he ends up on, and it should be interesting to see how the rest of the recruiting class fills out.Gators Add Lineman to List of 2014 Commits by Taylor Gaines
