Seminoles_Xavier_Rhodes_2013Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher leaned back in his office chair and wryly smiled.

Asked about how he and his staff would determine which of the Seminoles’ true freshmen would redshirt this season, he weaved his way beyond the coach-speak he started to provide and offered instead a more realistic glimpse into what he and his assistants have been thinking.

“Oh, there’s a lot of young guys that’ll play,” he said.

In addition to the trio of true freshmen receivers who may see playing time this fall, the Seminoles probably will showcase a three-man group of freshman and sophomore cornerbacks, too. Each is expected factor heavily in the defense’s new aggressive, defensive back-heavy scheme.
