FSU's Terrance Shannon Out For Season
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton says forward Terrance Shannon will have shoulder surgery and will miss the rest of the season.
Shannon, who hurt his left shoulder during a loss to Connecticut on Nov. 26, was third on the Seminoles in scoring (8.6 points). He was also averaging 4.4 rebounds per game.
A junior, Shannon played in just seven games. The 6-foot-8, 240-pound Shannon, a native of Forsyth, Ga., will apply for a redshirt this season and would have two years of eligibility beginning in 2012-13.
Florida State still has a deep frontcourt that includes three players who are 6-10 or taller: Jon Kreft, Xavier Gibson and Bernard James.
