FSU vs. Miami could get big ratings tonight on ABC
Tonight Brent MusburgerandKirk Herbstreitand reporterHeather Cox will bring ABCSaturday Night Footballto a sold out Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium. Kickoff will come around 8:18 p.m. ET and there is a very good chance that national ratings will be huge.
The Seminoles and Hurricanes are two of college football's best brands and without any challenge from either the Major League Baseball Playoffs and the World Series. So, sports fans from coast to coast will have no major reason to change the channel to a bigger more important game.
The Orange Bowl was the site of the Seminoles' first-ever victory over the Hurricanes in six meetings. The win a 17-6 victory for FSU was directed by quarterback and Tampa native Vic Prinzi. The Seminoles prevailed despite being out-gained 309-176.
The Bowden era at FSU and of course "the U" played over a dozen games between 1984 and 2004 where at least one of the teams if not both were contending for a National Championship. So tonight it will be back to the good old days for these two teams and ABC is hoping for another classic.
