FSU Football Player Arrested, Released from Team
Florida State offensive linemanIra Denson wasone of two players involved in a December dispute that led to a shooting. He has been released from the team after being charged with theft and fraud related to the original argument.
CoachJimbo Fisherconfirmed this report Wednesday.Denson was booked by the Leon County Sheriff's Office on charges of theft and fraud, specifically illegal use of a credit card. Denson was a redshirt freshman who didn't play for the 2013 national championship team. He was accused of stealing running backMario Pender's debit card in December and making transactions of over $500.00.
Pender told police he took Denson's shoes as collateral against the card and the two agreed to meet at Pender's Tallahassee apartment complex to exchange the shoes for the card.
The two got into a verbal right during the exchange that involved Pender's half-brother. Denson also brought a man with him and when theydrove away, the driver, shot out the window, according to Pender.
Pender's half-brother was shot in the face and the driver of the car has been arrested on a charge of attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
It seems that the team needs some disciplinary classes to learn how to get along with each other...
