Frustrated Chris Archer Believes Problems Are Temporary

Will Continue To Work Hard To Overcome Poor Results

In being charged with the loss in the Rays 6-5 defeat to the Cleveland Indians on SundayChris Archerlost his first game at Tropicana Field since August 13, 2013 versus the Seattle Mariners.

In his last three starts he is 0-1 with a 7.36 ERA (14.2IP/12ER) and in his those12 innings of work has recorded only 11 strikeouts and nearly matched that number by issuing10 walks.

Yesterday against the Cleveland Indians he allowed his third home run in his last 19.1 innings after allowing not allowing a long fly in his first 27.1 innings of work. He walked four batters in game for the first time since walknig four Boston Red Sox June 12th of last year.

He was unable to work more than five innings for his third consecutive start which was a first in his major league career. His biggest problem yesterday was putting hitters away as the Indians went 6 for 11 with two walks on two strike counts.

After the game he spoke to reporters and was slightly terse initially but warmed up as he unwound the events that had transpired and looked ahead to the future:

Some have taken noticethat heis taking longer to between pitches this season and this has been the case. According to Fangraphs.com he leads the Major League in PACE (time between pitches) at 26.5 seconds. Last season he was much quicker at 23.7 seconds.
