Former Vandy Player Indicted In Rape Case While Playing At FCS School

Even as the sexual assault case involving four former — and one current — Vanderbilt players works its way through the legal system, one of the individuals allegedly involved in the rape is already moving on, at least as far as his collegiate football career is concerned.
According to David Boclair of the Nashville Post, Jaborian “Tip” McKenzie has transferred into the Alcorn State football program and played in the FCS team’s game this past Saturday. Oddly enough, it came against an SEC school, Mississippi State.
McKenzie, the son of a former Alcorn State basketball player, was the Braves’ leading kick returner against the Bulldogs. Interestingly, McKenzie is not listed on Alcorn’s online roster even as he prominently featured in the recap of the MSU game.
Along with three of his former Commodore teammates — Brandon Banks, Cory Batey and Brandon Vandenburg – McKenzie was charged with one count of aggravated rape and one count of sexual battery. The four players were dismissed in late June by Vandy for their alleged role in the on-campus attack; they were indicted a month and a half later.
Current Vandy wide receiver Chris Boyd was also caught up in the case, indicted in mid-August on a felony count of accessory after the fact.
