Terrence Mitchell, who left the University of South Florida football team this summer, was arrested early Tuesday on charges of driving under the influence and assault of a firefighter, according to jail records.
Mitchell, 22, was arrested by Tampa police just after 2 a.m. at Bougainvillea Avenue and North 30th Street, according to Hillsborough County jail records. According to jail records, Mitchell’s blood alcohol content tested at 0.171 and 0.165, more than twice the state limit of 0.08.
Mitchell was also charged with driving with a canceled, suspended or revoked license. He was taken to the county jail with bail was set at $1,250.
