Former UF Assistant To Face Georgia Saturday

Cyclones_Dan_McCarney_2013Dan McCarney danced with his North Texas players in the locker room after a season-opening win over Idaho and screamed at them when trailing at halftime to Ohio a week later.

Yes, the former Iowa State head coach and Florida assistant still has plenty of energy even after suffering a stroke last year and undergoing heart bypass surgery this offseason.

“I’ve just got a little too much Irish in me to stay down very long,” said McCarney, the third-year Mean Green coach from Denton, Texas, where his team is getting ready for Saturday’s challenge against No. 9 Georgia. “I’m doing great and feeling probably as good as I have in the last 20 years.”
