Former Bucs DT Chartric Darby Arrested for Domestic Battery
While Warren Sapp was celebrating his enshrinement in Canton Saturday,his formerBuccaneer teammate, defensive tackleChartric Darby, had a rough afternoon.
Darby, 37, was arrested in Land O' Lakeson charges of domestic battery,after he and his wife got into an argument.
According tothe arrest report from thePasco County Sheriff's Department,a deputywas called totheirhome onOakville Drive afterhe allegedly pushedhis wifein the chest. She said shehad been trying to leave to "take care of some things."
Darby told the deputy that he and his wife had been arguing, but nothing physical occurred between the two. Theofficerreported that there were no visible signs of a physical altercation.
He was arrested at 4:53 p.m. andbooked just after 7:00 that evening. He wasreleased Sunday afternoon after posting $500 bail.
A backup during his first three years in Tampa, Darby started opposite Sapp in the postseason and in Super Bowl XXXVII after Booger McFarland suffered abroken foot.
Darbyplayed for the team from 2001-2004. His nine-year career alsoincluded stintswith the Seattle Seahawks and the Detroit Lions.
