Former Bengals FB John Conner Agrees to Terms with the Giants

Former Cincinnati Bengals fullback John Conner has agreed to terms with the New York Giants on a two-year deal, according to multiple reports.
Conner was among several players profiled in the hit HBO Series Hard Knocks this summer. In one of the most suspenseful and shocking moments of the show’s season finale, head coach Marvin Lewis cut Conner in favor of keeping Orson Charles, a converted tight end.
The show then featured a scene with Lewis bringing in Charles and showing him tape of Conner, explaining that this is how the position needed to be played.
While some deemed the move unfair, considering Conner was more skilled at his position, it depicted the harsh reality for many players fighting to earn roster spots in the National Football Football League. Better players are cut every day in favor of players that clubs have more invested in or may offer more later on down the road.
Conner handled his grand exit from the Bengals with about as much dignity and class as anyone could hope for.
A fifth-round draft pick by the Jets, Conner signed with Cincinnati last year after Chris Pressley was placed on season-ending injured reserve.
The former walk-on at Kentucky accrued 88 rushing yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns in his three seasons with the Jets. He comes to an 0-3 Giants team in desperate need of some life and a run game, in particular.
