You have to hand it to the Glazer family, the own controlling interest in two of Forbes Top 50 Professional Sports franchises according to the annual Forbes Magazine report. Manchester United is the No. 2 overall franchise with a net worth of $3.17 billion. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, rank No. 28 with a net worth of $1.03 billion.
By the way topping the Forbes list this and unseating Manchester United from the top spot is the Spanish soccer power Real Madrid. Then comes Manchester United followed in third place by FC Barcelona.
Another locally owned team of note the New York Yankees owned of course by Steinbrenner Family was the fourth highest valued franchise at $2. 3 billion dollars in value. They were the highest ranking United States professional franchise on the list.
The Miami Dolphins made the list at logging in at No. 25 with a value of $1.06 billion dollars. No other Florida franchise made the Forbes Top 50 list including the NBA Champion Miami Heat.
