For The Jags, A Clean Injury Is A Big Win

Jaguars fans will no doubt be encouraged by two late-game stands a maligned defense made Thursday night, preserving a 20-16 preseason victory over the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome. But that’s not the good news that matters.
The most important outcome for the Jaguars is that none of the projected starters, many of whom played three series, showed up on the post-game injury report. For players like Cecil Shorts, Luke Joeckel, Justin Babin and Tyson Alualu, who made a couple nice stops behind the line, the cause for celebration is that they should be in good health for the September 8 season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
