Flyers Sign Mike Knuble
The Philadelphia Flyers have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with RW Mike Knuble and have also recalled D Andreas Lilja from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, according to general manager Paul Holmgren. Both Knuble and Lilja will be available for tomorrow night’s game at Florida. Knuble will wear #9.
Knuble, 40 (7/4/1972), returns to the Flyers after spending the past three seasons with the Washington Capitals. He played for the Flyers for four seasons (2005-2009) after signing as a free agent on July 3, 2004. Knuble appeared in 310 games for the Flyers, playing all 82 games in three of those four seasons. He recorded 114 goals and 107 assists for 221 points, along with 92 PIM and a plus-29 rating. In 1040 career games with Detroit, Boston, the Flyers and Washington, Knuble has 274 goals and 266 assists for 540 points. He won a Stanley Cup with Detroit in 1998.
Lilja, 37 (7/13/1975), returns to the Flyers after joining Adirondack on January 17. He has two assists in four games with the Phantoms this season.
The Flyers return to action Saturday night when they visit the Florida Panthers at 7:30 PM (CSN, 93.3 WMMR) and are also on the ice Sunday night at Tampa Bay (6:00 PM, CSN, 97.5 The Fanatic).
