Florida’s Defense Thrives On Third Down

Gators_Defense_2013While Florida Gators head coach Will Muschamp expects significant strides from Week One to Week Two, Florida’s third-down defense has little room to improve.

Florida held Toledo to 1 of 13 on third down — and also stopped a fourth-down try — during Saturday’s 24-6 win in the Swamp.

A season after averaging 31.5 points, the Rockets ended the day with just 54 offensive snaps.

“When you play an up-tempo team, you have to get off the field,” Muschamp said Sunday during his weekly television show.
