Florida Drops Two Spots in AP Poll
The Florida Gators looked solid on Saturday against Toledo. They allowed only 205 yards and six points. They dominated the line of scrimmage in their 24-6 victory over the Rockets.
However, it wasn’t enough for the Gators to avoid a drop in the AP Poll. Despite the win, Florida, who was ranked 10th in the preseason poll, fell to 12th in Tuesday’s rankings.
LSU and Florida State impressed the voters with their season-opening victories, as they jumped into ninth and tenth.
LSU was clicking offensively in their 37-27 victory over TCU, and Florida State was dominant in their 41-13 road victory against Pittsburgh.
Even with its 38-35 loss to Clemson, Georgia remains ahead of Florida, eleventh in the rankings.
Don’t fear, though, Gator fans, because LSU, Florida State and Georgia are all on the schedule this season. No need to get fired up over the two-spot drop since Florida will have a chance to prove it belongs above those teams anyway.
So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the season as it unfolds. After all, fans watch for the football, not for the polls.
Nonetheless, here is a look at the rest of the Top 25 after Week One:
