Fantasy Football: Week 13 RB And WR Bounce-Back Candidates

You’ve most likely been apart of Black Friday at some point of your life. You know the drill. You get up at the (butt) crack of dawn, stand in a ridiculously long line of drowsy, frizzy-haired strangers forcing awkward conversation, and hope you get the discounted electronics you woke up at 4 A.M for.
That’s kind of what you have to do this time of year to help your fantasy football team. The playoffs are just a week away (or even starting this week in some leagues), everyone is looking for an edge, and my advice is this: Set up your sleeping bag, wake up early to stalk the waiver wire, and if your still holding onto Trent Richardson because “he was your first round pick,” you need to drop him.
Side note: if Richardson was in a 40+ men’s flag football league, they’d force him to be the center. He’s been that bad.
That being said, let’s get to this week’s bounce-backs.
Donald Brown Vs. Tennessee Titans
I could give you the standard “what Brown can do for you in Week 13″ UPS joke, but instead I’ll just back it up with good, old-fashioned statistics. Brown has outplayed Richardson over the last few weeks (I mean, who hasn’t?), posting 195 total yards and three touchdowns, while Richardson has just 150 total without reaching pay-dirt. Throw in the fact Brown burned the Titans for 80 yards and two scores in Week 11, and that stinker he threw up last week against Arizona should become a distant memory.
Chris Ivory Vs. Miami Dolphins
Ivory was slowed by an ankle injury on his first carry last week against the Ravens, and it showed as he racked up just 35 yards on his nine carries. But now with the league’s 26th ranked rush defense on tap and a week of rest, Ivory should have no problem putting up good numbers handling a hefty workload as a result of the Jets abysmal aerial attack.
Alshon Jeffery @ Minnesota Vikings
Surprisingly, Jeffery was shut down last week against the Rams secondary, being held to just 42 yards on four catches. No matter, you combine one of the worst secondaries in football with a rising star who is top 10 in the NFL in targets this season, you’re going to get fireworks. The Bears should have no problem lighting it up through the air in a comfortable dome environment, and Jeffery is going to benefit big time.
T.Y. Hilton Vs. Tennessee Titans
I guess I’m all in on the Colts this week. Here’s why: they play much better indoors. Hilton is no exception. The explosive second year receiver has been night and day this season with his home/road splits. Indoors, Hilton has averaged 90.1 yards over his last 16 games, opposed to just 36.2 yards outdoors. Fortunately, for Hilton (and the entire Colts offense for that matter), the inviting indoor environment of Lucas Oil Stadium awaits in Week 13.
