FANTASY BASKETBALL WEEKLY PLANNER

By Daniel E. Dobish

Welcome to the 2013-14 National Basketball Association regular season. We hope this finds you well, and that you had a very successful and somewhat enjoyable draft season. It certainly was interesting, as the injury bug made the drafting process a little trickier than past years with some key personnel either coming back from major injuries, dealing with a nagging injury, or heading into the season after a recent surgery.

After the first week or two, we’ll get an even better idea about a few question marks, but we’ll try and sift through the information as best we can to help you set the best possible lineup. And, if you’re a Daily Fantasy Basketball player, check out our Daily tab at RotoExperts.com to help in setting your lineup each evening.

Teams with four games: L.A. Lakers, Miami, Orlando

Teams with three games: Atlanta, Brooklyn, Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Detroit, Golden State, Houston, Indiana, L.A. Clippers, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minnesota, New Orleans, New York, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, San Antonio, Toronto, Utah, Washington

Teams with two games: Denver

TV TIME (national broadcasts in the upcoming week)

TUE Chicago-Miami (8pm TNT), L.A. Clippers-L.A. Lakers (10:30pm TNT)

WED Brooklyn-Cleveland (7pm NBATV), L.A. Lakers-Golden State (10:30pm NBATV)

THU New York-Chicago (8pm TNT), Golden State-L.A. Clippers (10:30pm TNT)

FRI Miami-Brooklyn (8pm ESPN), San Antonio-L.A. Lakers (10:30pm ESPN)

SAT Chicago-Philadelphia (7:30pm WGN, NBATV)

SUN Phoenix-Oklahoma City (7pm NBATV)

In cumulative Fantasy leagues, those which do not average points per game in a scoring period, the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and Orlando Magic each have favorable schedules since they have four games, as opposed to three for a majority of The Association. In fact, if you drafted a ton of Denver Nuggets, you will have some difficult lineup choices in the first period since they are the lone team to play just two games in the first week of action. PG Ty Lawson is a must-start Fantasy option regardless, but you’ll have to think long and hard about starting guys like C JaVale McGee or J.J. Hickson, for example, as it might be best to start lesser rated players who have three or four games.

The Los Angeles Clippers could get off to a very quick start, too. They face the gutted Lakers on Opening Night, and then they have games against the defensively challenged Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings.
