ESPN Hires Former Alabama QB

Greg McElroy

ESPN has reportedly hired former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy. He will be an analyst on the SEC Network.

McElroy tells the SEC Digital Network that he is excited about his new gig.

“I am thrilled to be joining the ESPN family. College football has always been one of my greatest passions, and I am tremendously grateful for the opportunity to take part in the launch of the SEC Network. The SEC provided me with five of the best years of my life, and the fact I will be able to cover its 14 outstanding universities was extremely appealing and exciting!”

According to the SEC Digital Network, McElroy joins analysts Jesse Palmer and Tim Tebow along with commentators Paul Finebaum, Brent Musburger and Joe Tessitore on a growing roster of experts contributing to the network’s coverage. The current analyst line-up collectively represents four SEC Football Championship wins, with McElroy and Tebow winning MVP in back to back years (2008, 2009).
