The GameDay crew will get things going early in Tallahassee on Saturday.

To say that Saturday will be a big day in Tallahassee would be a huge understatement. The big rivalry showdown will take place between No. 3 Florida State and No. 7 Miami in a game that will air in primetime at 8 p.m. nationally on ABC. But that will be the main event because the opening act will take place over 11 hours earlier.

ESPN’s iconic college football pregame show, College GameDay Built by The Home Depot, will make its 10th appearance on the campus of Florida State University on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 9 a.m. on ESPN. The three-hour show will originate from Langford Green prior to theSaturday Primetime game featuring No. 3 Florida State vs. No. 7 Miami at 8 p.m. from Doak Campbell Stadium.

Hosted by Chris Fowler, the GameDay crew consists of analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit,Desmond Howard and David Pollack, with reporting by Samantha Ponder, Tom Rinaldi, Scott Van Pelt and Gene Wojciechowski.

Florida State holds a 5-4 record when College GameDay is in town. Corso has picked the Seminoles all 10 times GameDay has been at a regular-season game – home or away – with the former FSU player sporting a 6-4 record.

Many know that Corso, who lives in Orlando is a FSU alum and was a highly ranked athlete out of  Miami Jackson Senior High where he played quarterback and was also a great baseball player. In 1953 he turned down $5000 dollar bonus to play baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers to be the quarterback at FSU.

While in Tallahassee he would room with Burt Reynolds who came to FSU from Palm Beach High School, where he was named First Team All State and All Southern as a fullback. The FSU teams with Corso and Reynolds were not very good but with those two men on the team it had to be fun.

A little known fact about Corso was in 1969, he was named head coach at Louisville where he coached his ESPN colleague Tom Jackson.  Should be fun as always to have Corso and the gang from ESPN in Tallahassee for this big game.
