ELOOnline : Jameis Winston in Orlando
The Jameis Winston Baseball Road Show stopped off at UCF on Tuesday night as Second ranked ?Florida State beat UCF 11-10 in front of??a standing room-only throng of 3,953 fans which is the biggest crowd ever to watch a baseball game at UCF.
Last week, the Seminoles traveled to Tampa to take on USF ?and drew 3,615 fans which is the biggest crowd for a baseball game in Bulls history . A couple of weeks before that, they were at Jacksonville ?and drew the biggest crowd anybody can ever remember for a JU baseball game at 3,000 fans.
Jameis Winston is the biggest star in College Sports right now both in Football and Baseball. ?Other than perhaps LeBron James, Winston ?is the most popular athlete playing in the sunshine state. ?Dont be fool either, Winston is an elite closer for the Noles.
With FSU holding a two-run lead, Winston took the mound in the eighth inning amid cheers from a ?jacked-up crowd. There were runners on the corners with one out, and Winston struck out the two batters he faced in the eighth and then pitched himself out of a jam in the ninth to record the save and the 11-10 victory.
It is uncertain what the future is for Winston in Baseball but he has been a positive for College Baseball as Winston given the sport more national media and more casual fans have gone to FSU Baseball games because of him.
For now the big question is not what Winston future is in the NFL or MLB? ?But can Winston do something that has never been done in Tallahassee? ?Help bring ?an elusive ?National title to FSU in Baseball. One thing is for sure, Winston has won a Heisman Trophy and ?already knows what it takes to win a National Championship in Football. Were Winston to ?be part of a National Championship in Football and Baseball in the same Athletic School year then Winston would really be indeed "FAMOUS" for being arguably the greatest college athletes of all-time.
