Doug Baldwin Close To Deal With Seahawks
Wednesday night during a SeriusXM NFL interview, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin said that he wanted to sign a long-term deal with the team but that he was preparing to play out the year under the restricted free agent tender of $2.18 million the Seahawks extended to him early in the offseason.
According to reports on Thursday, though, that could all be for nothing. Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the two sides “have gotten closer” in negotiations recently and that a deal could be completed soon. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network followed up by reporting that he’s heard the same thing about the status of talks in Seattle and that the deal is “very close” to done and could be completed on Thursday.
The 25-year-old is coming off of his best NFL season. The former undrafted free agent had 50 catches for 778 yards and five touchdowns for the Seahawks.
Baldwin will make about $6.3M this season. His RFA tender was worth a little over $2M

#Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin’s new deal: 3 years for $13M with almost $11M in new money. So, $4.3M per year, can do a new deal before 30
