Plan A for addressing the Miami Dolphins’ pass protection problems is to get better play from the reeling offensive line in general and from new tackle Bryant McKinnie in particular. Plan B is to keep backup quarterback Matt Moore ready.
There really is nothing else, unless Ryan Tannehill, who was limited in practice Wednesday with an unspecified injury to his throwing shoulder, is going to take charge of this situation himself.
At this point, he’s pretty well-versed in reading defensive schemes at the line of scrimmage, and fully capable of triggering all the options available to him in the Dolphins playbook. Maybe it’s time for Tannehill to devote more of his video study to learning the survival skills of the NFL’s cagiest quarterbacks.
Tom Brady is one.
