The Miami Dolphins signed rookie wide receiver Jarvis Landry, the team announced Thursday evening. Landry, a second-round selection out of LSU, signed a three-year deal.
He played in 40 career games for the Tigers, starting 12. He capped his career off with 137 receptions for 1,809 yards and 15 touchdowns.
The rookie is currently in a three-player competition to become the Dolphins’ slot receiver with veterans Brandon Gibson and Rishard Matthews.
The Dolphins are hopeful the rookie can help form a lethal group of pass catchers with top wideouts Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline similar to the dyanmic duo Landry was a part of at LSU alongside Giants first-round pick Odell Beckham. Landry and Beckham combined for 2,310 yards and 18 touchdowns last season at LSU.
