Dolphins Upgrade With Leach, Rodriguez
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Miami Dolphins have claimed H-back Evan Rodriguez from waivers, and Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun reports they will host recently released fullback Vonta Leach on Wednesday.
Rodriguez was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft. The Temple standout would have been drafted higher if not for off-field issues. According to Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago, Rodriguez was charged with misdemeanor counts of disturbance and trespassing in 2007 and arrested for disorderly conduct in 2009.
Leach was released by the Baltimore Ravens after they were unable to convince Leach to restructure his contract.
Leach played under Mike Sherman with the Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans and is a renowned lead-blocker who can become Lamar Miller’s best friend.
