DEVILS ACQUIRE MATT D’AGOSTINI FROM BLUES
Newark, NJ – The New Jersey Devils today acquired forward Matt D’Agostini and a conditional seventh-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft from St. Louis in exchange for New Jersey’s conditional fifth-round choice in the 2015 draft. The announcement was made by Devils’ President/CEO/General Manager Lou Lamoriello.
D’Agostini, 26, has one goal and one assist for two points and two penalty minutes in 16 games with St. Louis in 2012-13, after beginning the season with Riessersee SC (Ger.-2). Now in his fifth NHL season, the 6-0, 200-lb. forward has career totals of 45 goals and 46 assists for 91 points and 115 penalty minutes in 254 regular-season appearances. In 2010-11, D’Agostini had career highs with 21 goals and 25 assists for 46 points and 40 penalty minutes while appearing in all 82 games. Born October 23, 1986 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., he was previously acquired from Montreal on March 2, 2010 after four seasons with the Canadiens’ organization. He was Montreal’s fifth choice (sixth round) and 190th overall selection in the 2005 draft. D’Agostini played two seasons of junior hockey with Guelph (OHL).
