Derrick Rose’s lack of recruiting may hurt Bulls
If Chicago Bulls fans are hoping LeBron James joins their team when he becomes a free agent after next season, they better not look for Derrick Rose to help recruit him.
During an interview with rapper.com this week Rose told a reporter, “if anyone wants to play with me, I wouldn’t mind playing with, it could be anybody in the NBA, but as far as recruiting, I never did or never will.”
While that can be admirable to some, it still doesn’t make it smart. If Rose wants to win his first championship he’s going to need some help. It doesn’t mean the young star needs to beg other players to join the Bulls but making phone calls to other star players and showing interest is something that should be expected of a franchise player. Especially one who has yet to win a ring.
In a league where egos need to be stroked, Rose and his refusal to recruit could rub players the wrong way. Maybe a few more early playoff exits will change the young stars mind.Derrick Rose’s lack of recruiting may hurt Bulls by David Gaulman
