Jeter's Ankle Feels Better, But No Return Date

Veteran Yankees are getting healthy, with Mark Teixeira and Kevin Youkilis set to return this week, though one significant return remains: Derek Jeter's.

Jeter, who has missed the entire season with a twice-broken left ankle, had the protective boot removed on Friday and he's been cleared to resume throwing. The 13-time All-Star shortstop revealed another CT-scan will be scheduled within "the next week-and-a-half," likely in Florida, before it will be decided when he can resume other baseball activities and start moving toward a return to the field for his 19th season in pinstripes. "As soon as possible. That's it. I'm not going to put a date on it. The last time I put a date on it, it didn't work," Jeter said when asked for an updated time frame.
