Derek Carr Fully Expects to Participate in Pro Day Despite Hospitalization
Former Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr fully expects to participate in his pro day Thursday despite being hospitalized Wednesday night.
According toNFL.com, Carr has been battling a stomach virus and required an IV.
"I'm doing fine and I feel a lot better than I did at about 5 a.m. this morning," Carr said on NFL Network Thursday morning.
Carr opted not to throwat February's NFL Scouting Combine, meaning a lot weighs on today's performance. He has been recently working with formerBucs offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan.
In his senior year, Carrled the nation with5,083 passing yards and 50 touchdowns and followed up with a strong performance at the Senior Bowl.
He still has his share of doubters though, with critics arguing that against top-level competition, like USC, Carr faltered.
The Bucs looked to have an inside track on Carr thanks to his longstanding relationship with Jeff Tedford, but the recent signing of Josh McCown makes drafting a quarterback uncertain.
