WVU RB Buie Can’t Wait For Next Chance

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia’s ground game was supposed to feature several running backs this season. For now, it’s mostly on the shoulders of sophomore Andrew Buie.

Thrust into the starting lineup due to injuries, Buie has infused some critically needed balance to the Mountaineers’ offense over the last two games.

He ran for a career-high 207 yards and scored twice in a 48-45 win over No. 15 Texas on Saturday — eclipsing his yardage total for all of last season.

Buie had 31 carries in that game and says he’ll be ready to handle the load again when No. 5 West Virginia (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) plays at Texas Tech (4-1, 1-1) on Saturday.
