The USF football team will return to Raymond James Stadium for the annual Spring Game on Saturday, March 29. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. and admission and parking is free.
For the 2014 Spring Game, fans will be seated in the west stands so they may enjoy the game from the cool shade of the home sideline. The game can be heard live on 98.7 The Fan with a 30-minute pre-game show starting at 3:30 p.m. More information on the game and events surrounding it will be announced in the coming weeks on GoUSFBulls.com.
The Bulls began offseason workouts on Jan. 15. Strength coach Hans Straub and the Bulls’ strength staff is putting the Bulls through six weeks of strength and conditioning work prior to the team’s return to the practice field on Feb. 26. Head coach Willie Taggart and the USF coaching staff will work with the Bulls through 15 practice dates over a span of five weeks culminating with the annual Spring Game.
The Bulls return 16 starters (9 offense, 5 defense, 2 specialists) for Taggart’s second season at the helm, which kicks off on Aug. 30 vs. Western Carolina at Raymond James Stadium. The Bulls 2014 non-conference schedule will feature home clashes vs. Big Ten foe Maryland (Sept. 6) and ACC opponent N.C. State (Sept. 13) as well as a road game at perennial Big Ten power Wisconsin (Sept. 27). USF’s American Athletic Conference schedule for the Bulls’ second campaign in the conference will be announced in the coming months.
On offense, USF will return its top three receivers, including wide receiver Andre Davis who set a Bulls’ season record with 735 receiving yards in 2013, quarterback Mike White, who threw for 311 yards and two touchdowns in his debut at Houston, and five starters on the offensive line led by two-year starting center Austin Reiter. A USF defense that ranked 21st in the FBS in total defense in 2013 returns two of the Bulls’ top four tacklers in linebacker Reshard Cliett (56) and safety Nate Godwin (49), as well as safety Hassan Childs who led the team in interceptions (3).
USF football season ticket renewals are now available and feature plenty of new benefits for 2014. Season ticket members that renew by the Feb. 5, 2014 priority deadline will receive a discounted 2014 price on season tickets along with extended payment plan options up to 9 months, as well as additional season ticket renewal benefits. Members may renew their tickets today online, by calling 1-800-GoBulls, or in person at the Ticket Sales and Service Center in the Sun Dome administrative offices (Gate B).
