USF will take on Florida State in men’s basketball next season as part of the 21st annual MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic.
The 33rd meeting in the series in which the Seminoles lead, 20-12, will be played at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Fla. on Saturday, Dec. 21 as part of a doubleheader with Florida and Wake Forest. Game times will be announced at a later date.
The two schools last met on Nov. 18, 2007, a 68-67 win for the Bulls in the final game of the Glenn Wilkes Classic in Daytona Beach. USF has won three of the last four meetings and is 2-2 against FSU at neutral sites.
Under recently hired head coach Orlando Antigua, USF returns two members of the American Athletic Conference All-Freshman team in big men John Egbunu and Chris Perry along with point guard Anthony Collins, who missed most of last season with a knee injury.
Florida State will be playing in the Classic for the sixth time (5-1). The Seminoles (22-14) recently finished their season with a 67-64 loss to Minnesota in the semifinals of the NIT.
