Insider: Running Back Mike Pierre Commits To USF

After losing running back Darrell Scott to the NFL Draft after only one season with the USF, the Bulls have been looking for a replacement.

Replacing Scott’s 814 yards from last season isn’t the easiest task but it looks like the Bulls will at least get some help at the running back position  when Mike Pierre, a 5’11 205 pound  JUCO running back from Golden West College in California verbally committed to USF on Sunday.

Pierre, an Orlando native, spent the last two seasons at Golden West College. He gives the Bulls a lot more depth at the running back position behind senior Demetris Murray. Last season, Pierre rushed for 780 yards and scored six touchdowns. During his freshman season, he was Golden West’s leading rusher with 420 yards on 85 attempts.

Pierre is quite an elusive running back and brings along some speed. In the combine, he registered a 4.4 on the 40 yard dash.

With Pierre’s commitment, it makes him the 16th player that has committed to play for USF in the 2012 season.
