The UCF Knights picked up their fifth commitment for the 2015 season on Tuesday, landing three-star linebacker Neal Nelson of Timber Creek High School in Sicklerville, N.J.
Nelson was in Orlando this weekend for his official visit to UCF and, apparently, came away rather impressed with what the school had to offer him. NJ.com currently has him ranked as the 33rd-best player in the state of New Jersey.
According to UCFSports.com, Nelson had cut his list down to two schools, UCF and Pittsburgh. Boston College, Louisville, Old Dominion, Syracuse and Temple also offered him a scholarship to play football at their respective universities.
Nelson stands 6-foot-1 and weighs in at 215 pounds. Listed as an outside linebacker by Rivals.com, he recorded 51 tackles (15 for loss) and four sacks during his junior season at Timber Creek.
He joins previous commits wide receiver Cameron Stewart, quarterback Bo Schneider, running back Taj McGowan and linebacker Pat Jasinski as part of the Knights’ Class of 2015. Here is his high school highlight video:
