UCF Lands Two-star QB Bo Schneider

The UCF Knights added their second commit for 2015 on Tuesday, when two-star quarterback Bo Schneider announced via Twitter that he had officially committed to the school.

The Dallas Jesuit gunslinger chose the Knights over Oregon State, Tulsa, Houston, Southern Miss and Colorado State. He joins Georgia wide receiver Cameron Stewart as UCF’s lone commits thus far for 2015.

Schneider was not even on the Knights’ radar until recently. He reached out to the team’s staff, per Rivals.com, having come away impressed with the school’s 2013 Fiesta Bowl-winning campaign. Surely the success of Blake Bortles, whom the 6-foot-4 Schneider shares some similarities with, caught the new commit’s attention—Bortles was taken third overall in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars last month.

Schneider is coming off a season at Jesuit during which he threw for 3,185 yards and 31 touchdowns with just nine interceptions en route to Player of the Year honors in Texas’ District 9-5A.

He and his father visited his top two schools last week with the intent of making a decision shortly thereafter and came away impressed with UCF. He is still expected to make an official visit with the school during the season to see the Knights in action.
