Insider: UCF Blasts Houston 74-63

Isaiah Sykes  led the Knights with 21 points and a career high 14 rebounds to lead the Knights to 74-63 win over Houston in front of the seventh- largest crowd in UCF arena of 7,862. Keith Clanton added 18 points and 13 rebounds.  Check out post-game videos below.

UCF Post-Game News and Notes

– The Knights are now 13-3  on the season but we will learn more  about how good UCF is in the next two games with  a game at Marshall on Saturday  and then hosting Memphis next Wednesday night. Memphis and Marshall are the top 2 teams in C-USA picked in preseason polls.

– UCF out rebounded Houston 44-34  and dominated the Cougars with 27 Offensive Rebounds in the game.

– Marcus Jordan scored 13 points in the game. Jordan is now 7 points away from 1,000 career points.

–  Clanton is now 2 rebounds away from moving into 5th place all-time at UCF in career rebounds.

– UCF Women’s Soccer Coach Amanda Cromwell  got 4 year contract extension  through 2015. Cromwell led the Knights to the  elite 8 in 2011 including wins over Florida and North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament. Since taking over the helm of UCF women’s soccer in 1999, Cromwell has guided her team to a 186-78-24 record, 10 NCAA Tournament appearances, four Conference USA regular-season titles and four Atlantic Sun Tournament championships.

– UCF Volleyball coach Todd Dagenais got a contract extension through the 2014 season. The Knights completed their best season since 2003 after amassing a 20-11 record and program-high 12 Conference USA victories in 2011.
