No need to mess around with any sort of contrived preview. I aim to give the people what they want and that’s this week’s picks.
Miami at Florida State
It’s funny to hear all of this contrived hype as if the various media outlets are trying to push this game to the heights it has been in the past. The problem is the perception that the two teams are on completely different levels. Miami’s struggles with UNC and Wake Forest haven’t helped matters when compared to Florida State’s ability to crush similar opponents. We could put up as many numbers as we like but the bottom line is FSU is going to win because they are a better team. Period.
FSU 37, Miami 14
Georgia vs. Florida (in Jacksonville)
And now for a game slightly more complicated. For the last month Georgia and Florida have been in a race to see which team can be more decimated with injuries. With both teams coming off of bye weeks they are a little more healthy. Georgia gets Todd Gurley back on offense and Florida gets Ronald Powell and Damien Jacobs back on defense. The down side is Aaron Murray will still be throwing to receivers barely on scholarship while Florida’s struggling offensive line will be without starting left tackle D.J. Humphries. Such a loss will make a bad offense even worse if that’s possible.
