Nick Saban Thinks Highly of Big Ten

When speaking to a large audience this week, Nick Saban made sure to speak kindly of the Big Ten conference.

After he gave a speech in Ohio, Saban took questions from the crowd and one person asked how long it would take to get up to standards of the SEC. Saban’s response surprised some. According to, Saban said he likes the Big Ten.

“I think we have a little bit of an advantage when it comes to the recruiting base we have in the Southeast, but I think the Big Ten is a really good conference. And I want to be quoted on that.”

He went on to say that there are good high school football players in Ohio, but there’s also good talent in the Southeast. He mentioned that the Big Ten has become more competitive throughout the years and they have great universities.

This does not mean that Saban will be leaving the SEC anytime soon, but at least he was being cordial.
