Gator Football didn’t have many happenings during the final week of May. While this is the time of year for most teams to get the important work done that goes unnoticed in the fall, it doesn’t provide much for news angles. However, there was some scheduling news this week. It may not seem important now, but these are things fans will plan their Saturdays around when the season starts, so pay attention.
- The start time for Florida’s first road game of the season on September 7 against Miami (FL) will be at noon, according to ESPN and the ACC. The game will be the second overall of Florida’s season after facing Toledo in Week 1. The last time Florida played Miami in 2008, the Gators won 28-6.
- In not-so-shocking news, the start time for the annual Florida-Georgia game will be at 3:30 ET on CBS. Plan your trips accordingly. The game is on November 2 this season, Florida’s eighth game.
- On Thursday, Florida addressed the potential expansion of the SEC schedule in the future. They reinforced that both Florida State and LSU will be on their schedule if they have anything to say about it. “The Florida State game is very important to us,” athletic director Jeremy Foley said. “I don’t see that changing.”
