CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Jake Wieclaw knows the history of Miami-Florida State games. It’s certainly not uncommon if the outcome is decided by someone’s foot.
If it happens that way, Wieclaw says he’ll be ready.
A series filled in recent years with famed Florida State field-goal misses and a muffed Miami snap that cost the Hurricanes a chance at a win resumes Saturday in Tallahassee, Fla., when the Seminoles host the Hurricanes.
Wieclaw may be in the spotlight of one of college football’s best rivalries for the first time. He’s in his first season as Miami’s kicker, having won the job following the graduation of Matt Bosher a year ago.
Wieclaw has turned into one of Miami’s most consistent players.
