Miami offensive lineman Hunter Knighton was taken to the hospital when he collapsed following a workout with the football team February. Miami coaches and representatives received positive news soon after Knighton received medical treatment, but he stayed in the hospital for further observations.
The Hurricanes announced that Knighton has been released from the hospital. The cause for the medical scare is unknown at this time, because his family has requested privacy. The UM athletic department issued a statement about the situation.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Hunter Knighton and his family at this time, though we are encouraged by the prognosis. We look forward to his return to normal activities as soon as his health permits.”
Knighton is a redshirt freshman and it is unclear as to when he might return to Miami’s practices, but the Hurricanes are currently on spring break.
