Gators Could Renew Football Series with Miami

A good ole Sunshine State rivalry is brewing again. Well, the Florida vs. Miami Hurricanes rivalry never went away but now there are talks of bringing back a matchup between the two.

According to College Football Talk, Miami AD Blake James has been talking with Florida AD Jeremy Foley about renewing the series between the two football teams, and Florida seems to be considering it.

Hold the phone for just a minute. Wasn’t it a representative from the Gators who said they never wanted to face the Hurricanes unless they joined the SEC? Last I checked, Miami is still in the ACC…

Have the stubborn Gators had a change of heart?

Regardless, if this game were to happen, it would have to be on neutral turf. Orlando is being  considered to host the series since it’s sort of in the middle of both schools. Tampa could be another possibility.

College Football Talk points out that the teams have 55 times since their first game in 1938. Both the Gators and Canes face in-state rival Florida State, so why not face each other again?
