TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — The top-ranked Florida State Seminoles finished their final workout on campus Monday afternoon in preparation for No. 2 Auburn in the BCS championship game.
The team leaves for California Tuesday morning and has five more practices scheduled before the title game Jan. 6. The team had a four-week break after winning the Atlantic Coast Conference championship contest.
Coach Jimbo Fisher says, “I would have been tickled to death to play the very next week after we played Duke, we were playing so well.”
Florida State is undefeated for the first time since 1999 and outscored its last nine opponents 484-79.
The Seminoles are working through a choppy schedule that included breaks for exams and the holidays. Now there’s the travel and additional bowl activities.
