Seminoles_Jacob_Coker_2013Florida State backup quarterback Jacob Coker is out indefinitely after injuring his meniscus against Wake Forest on Saturday. The redshirt sophomore will undergo surgery Tuesday, but the timetable for his return is still undetermined, coach Jimbo Fisher said.

Coker had battled Jameis Winston for the starting quarterback job in the spring and summer but was beat out by the redshirt sophomore a couple weeks before the start of the season.

Coker has completed 18 of 36 passes this season for 250 yards and an interception. Redshirt freshman Sean Maguire will replace Coker as the team’s backup.
