According to reports, Florida State defensive back Ronald Darby has been cleared by FSU in the alleged rape case that quarterback Jameis Winston was involved in.
College Football Talk says that a panel reviewed Darby’s connection to the high-profile alleged rape case and they determined that Darby was not responsible for any violations that created a hostile environment for another student at the university.
The report also quotes Darby’s attorney, Tico Gimbel, who confirmed to USA Today that “Darby was not responsible for “conduct of a sexual nature that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for another person” and “acts that invade privacy of another person.”
Darby and teammate Chris Casher had been accused of witnessing a rape by Winston, although state prosecutors never charged Winston.
Darby’s attorney said that they’re happy with the outcome and they it was the right way to handle things.
“Ronald Darby’s happy to put all of this behind him.”
